Freeths climb the corporate deals rankings

Experian have published their 2016 year end report of UK corporate deal activity and Freeths have again moved up the rankings from the previous year representing another successful year of deal activity. This is the third year in a row in which Freeths have improved their standing, recognising Freeths as one of the most active corporate law firms in the UK

Nationally, Freeths were ranked 13th, up from 18th in 2015. In the Midlands, they achieved 2nd position, with 41 deals completed in the region during 2016. Another impressive region for the firm is the South East, which is ranked 4th compared to 10th in 2015.2016 was an extremely busy year across all of Freeths’ 11 offices and the pattern is looking to continue into this year. The corporate team advised on the IPO of Autins Group and the buyout of Funeral Service Partnership by Montagu Private Equity.

Lee Clifford, a corporate partner at Freeths, commented "This is an excellent result for the team. We have been very active completing deals throughout 2016 across the national network. I am also delighted to see the nature of the deals we have successfully completed which has included three IPO’s, two of which were post Brexit, and also a number of high profile private equity and banking transactions. We have also seen growth within our teams with the appointment of a number of partners across the group. This puts us in a great position as we go into 2017."
