Milton Keynes award scholarship

Freeths' Milton Keynes office has awarded local student Alicia Dominique, a former student at Northampton School for Boys, their 2017 legal scholarship.

Now in its fifth year, the award provides aspiring law students with the opportunity to undertake paid work experience within the national firm's Milton Keynes office, providing insights into the life of a commercial lawyer, as well as contributing to their personal development. On top of that, the winner receives a £1,000 bursary to help fund their studies.

Seven exceptional shortlisted candidates from local schools were invited to spend the afternoon at the Milton Keynes office where they learnt about the work of commercial lawyers and their career paths. Following publication of A-Level results, Alicia was confirmed as the winning candidate. She will be studying law at Lancaster University and will be joining Freeths for her work experience placement in summer 2018.

Freeths Legal Assistant Emma Little, commented

"The scholarship scheme is a unique opportunity for law students to showcase their budding legal potential. It also provides excellent hands-on experience that will help in the development of their career in law. Coupled with this, past students have enjoyed the hardworking yet friendly atmosphere of the firm. The scheme has grown in popularity each year and it will be exciting to see how it will further inspire the study and practice of law in the lawyers of the future."
