There has been an important update on the Government's plans to bring in far reaching changes to Skilled Worker visas.
It is expected that on 11 March the Rules to prevent care workers and senior care workers from bringing dependants to the UK with them will come into force.
On 4 April, the plans to increase the earnings thresholds for those arriving on the Skilled Worker route will be implemented with the minimum threshold increasing to £38,700.
Existing Skilled Worker visa holders will be exempt, as will Health and Care Visa routes and those occupations on national payscales. The Shortage Occupation List will be replaced by the Immigration Salary List.
On 4 April, the 20% going rate discount for shortage occupations will be removed. From 11 April, the minimum salary threshold for family visa applicants will rise from £18,600 gross per annum to £29,000 gross per annum with the intention that it will ultimately rise to £38,700 by early 2025.
