Laura Lucas

Laura is dual qualified as an Insolvency Practitioner having successfully undertaken the Joint Insolvency Examination Board exams in 2013 where she won the Insolvency Lawyers’ Association Prize for achieving the highest marks of any lawyer in the country. Laura has also held a license with the Insolvency Practitioners Association as a non-appointment taking Insolvency Practitioner and has featured in the Legal 500.

Laura has significant experience in advising Insolvency Practitioners, creditors, company directors and individuals in all insolvency matters both contentious and non-contentious. She has a particular expertise in transactional work involving the sale and purchase of insolvent companies and the appointment of office holders including advice on associated matters such as security documents, employees and landlords.

She regularly deals with a variety of applications such as applications for administration orders, fee approval, extensions to administrations, validation orders and permission to re-use a company name. She both pursues and defends company directors and individuals in relation to claims by Insolvency Practitioners for matters including misfeasance, wrongful trading, preferences and transactions at an undervalue. Laura also advise directors facing disqualification proceedings.

Laura is a past Chair of the R3 North West New Professionals networking group.
