Freeths advise on Brunning & Price acquisition
Freeths’ specialist hospitality lawyers have advised Brunning and Price on the acquisition of Food & Fuel, operators of 11 premium London pubs.
Owned by The Restaurant Group plc, Brunning and Price has grown from a handful of sites to a collection of 64 individual pubs mainly in rural locations in the NW, N Wales, W Midlands and the South East. The acquisition of Food and Fuel secures sites in prime London locations.
The original business was acquired in 2007 by the Restaurant Group, a significant player in the UK casual dining market, now operating over 500 restaurants and pubs. These include Frankie and Benny’s, Chiquito, Coast to Coast, Garfunkel’s, Firejacks and Joe’s Kitchen, in addition to concessions – primarily in UK airports.
Leo Skinner, partner leading the hospitality team, commented: “This transaction demanded seamless delivery from a range of specialists dealing with the business, tax, property and people aspects of the purchase. The Restaurant Group, a long-standing client, has developed a successful brand in Brunning and Price, and it is rewarding to see this investment for growth.”
Freeths’ dedicated sector team specialises in advising pub, bar, restaurant and hotel operators on the acquisition and disposal of individual sites and portfolios of trading businesses.
