New Faces at Freeths Solicitors

So far, in 2019, there have been a fair few new faces at Freeths Solicitors in the Oxford office on Cowley Business Park and their London office in Mayfair.

Freeths is delighted to announce they have recruited Louise Lewis (second from left), who is a Director in the Family Wealth department. Louise qualified in 2005 and joined us from Penningtons Manches Cooper LLP. She is recognised for her expertise in digital assets and trust and estate planning, as well as her work with vulnerable clients and charities.

Irpreet Kohli (third from left), has also joined the firm as a Director in the Family Wealth department, in the London office. Irpreet is a specialist family lawyer and has been advising individuals for 15 years on a wide range of family issues. She has joined us from internationally focussed Child and Child and prior to that, regional law firm, Blake Morgan.

Freeths have also recruited Partner, Mike Bell (first left), who specialises in private wealth management and tax planning for clients. Mike deals with both domiciled and non-domiciled clients and works with them to determine the best structure to protect their wealth. He also works alongside the firm’s Real Estate teams advising clients on how to structure complex property acquisitions and disposals.

Irpreet and Mike will both operate out of London and both were hired to strengthen Freeths’ Family Wealth offering and London presence.

Adding to the expanding Family Wealth department in Oxford, they welcome Solicitors Robyn Hemmings (third from right) and Aidan Tynan (fourth from left). Robyn specialises in Court of Protection work and the needs of vulnerable clients. Aidan is newly qualified and has joined the firm’s Trusts, Estates and Tax team.

The Dispute Resolution team in Oxford also gained Solicitor, Laura Turner (fourth from right), from a firm in Buckinghamshire. Laura assists on a variety of matters including general commercial disputes, professional indemnities and contentious, trusts and probate disputes.

Two new Legal Assistants have also joined the Family Wealth team in Oxford, Molly McCormick, (first from right) and Jaydi Dean (second from right), have both recently graduated and are starting their law journey through Freeths.

Rachael Oakes, Partner and National Joint Head of the Family Wealth department at Freeths’ Oxford office, commented, “I’m delighted to welcome our new recruits to the Freeths team.  The Family Wealth team at Freeths is ranked as a top-tier team in the UK for providing specialist legal advice on private wealth and family law, which is why it is important that we have the skill-set and resource to continue to support our clients even on the most complex of legal issues.”

Nigel Roots, who is also a Partner and National Joint Head of the Family Wealth department at Freeths’ Oxford office, said, “The recruitment of these new staff members into our highly regarded Family Wealth team is testament to the demand for our services, as private individuals and business owners seek advice and guidance on preserving their wealth for generations to come. I look forward to working with my new colleagues over the coming months.”

Duncan Crine, Partner and Head of Freeths’ Oxford dispute management department, said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Laura Turner to the team.  Her appointment is aligned with our department’s strategy to recruit only the highest calibre of solicitor.  Laura’s experience and expertise will be invaluable to our clients and those looking for support and guidance on resolving disputes.”
