Chris is a highly regarded planning lawyer and heads our Planning and Environment team. He has over 30 years of experience in Planning, working for local authorities and the private sector.
Chris provides strategic advice to developers, landowners and public sector bodies in the residential, retail, commercial and mixed-use sectors. He has particular expertise in strategic land promotion and in urban redevelopment projects. Chris also represents clients in respect of Planning applications, local plan submissions, and at appeal as an expert witness.
Chris is listed as a Leading Individual in Chambers (2020 edition) and as a Recommended Lawyer in the Legal 500 (2020 edition).
- Advised Taylor Lindsey in respect of a major business park development on the outskirts of Lincoln, and several large scale housing developments. Chris appeared on the client’s behalf at the Central Lincolnshire Local Plan Examination in public.
- Advising Hallam Land on the strategic promotion of sites in Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire comprising of over 2,000 dwellings.
- Advising developer clients on two major regeneration sites in Portsmouth involving multi storey redevelopment and listed building and scheduled monument issues.
- Advising a landowner in respect of S106 matters relating to a development of 550 dwellings and requirements for a school, a bridge over a trunk road, community facilities and affordable housing.
