Emma is an experienced employment solicitor, who specialises in advising on and managing all aspects of Employment Tribunal litigation – including complex discrimination, whistleblowing and TUPE matters.
If appropriate and cost efficient for you, Emma will also undertake her own advocacy.
Emma also has significant experience in advising on large scale redundancy and restructuring exercises, as well as complex capability and disciplinary dismissals. She provides every day assistance and advice in respect of general employment queries, working with you to find a commercially workable solution.
- Successfully applied for a number of claims to be struck out in the Employment Tribunal. These included potentially high profile claims for discrimination and whistleblowing, which are rarely struck out without a Judge hearing witness evidence. Emma conducted her own advocacy in respect of this matter.
- Advising a household name retailer on the applicability of TUPE within their concession stores and assisting with the drafting of the relevant documentation used.
- Advising an SME in respect of a terminating the employment of an employee who was on long term sick leave. Emma assisted in drafting the relevant documentation to ensure that the client was sufficiently protected from any claims in respect of disability discrimination and unfair dismissal.
Emma is a member of Freeths food sector team. She regularly supports the Fresh Produce Consortium’s HR forum by presenting topical updates to members. She also advises food businesses on human resources concerns, including disputes and providing training to managers.
