"He is a great person to work with, combining technical capability, commerciality, strong communication skills and great client service."
A practising pensions lawyer for 18 years, a member of the Association of Pensions Lawyers and Pensions Management Institute Nigel has widespread experience of not just advising trustees and employers but has also been a Director of an independent trustee company for 17 years where he was involved in everything from scheme abandonment appointments to business acquisitions. Nigel brings a unique perspective to dealing with advisers and the work of a trustee in small pension schemes.
Nigel has particular experience in dealing with smaller pension arrangements both in terms of pensions and corporate restructuring which includes significant experience of dealing with the Pensions Regulator, the Pension Protection Fund where he has put in place Scheme, Flexible, and Regulated Apportionment Arrangements.
Nigel also has also got significant experience of public sector outsourcing and advising trustees on scheme closures, mergers, data protection issues, scheme funding issues and negotiating drafting pension adviser agreements. Nigel has also advised a number of large (5000 member plus) occupational defined contribution schemes over the last 15 years and coupled with his role acting as a trustee is again uniquely placed to assist clients in this area, particularly now where many companies are looking to windup these types of scheme.
Nigel is listed as a Recommended lawyer in the Legal 500 (2019 Edition) and is ranked in Chambers (2019 Edition) as a Leading Individual.
