Agriculture Newsletter: Summer 2016

Welcome to the Agriculture Newsletter Summer 2016 edition

The Summer holidays are finally here and the weather has actually turned quite summery unlike the last few years of rain we have been having. I do hope I have not jinxed it by saying that! In any case it is time for the summer edition of our newsletter which I am pleased to introduce. The dust from the new 3% SDLT rate is still settling and the mechanics of how it will work are becoming clearer by the day so Bob Neal’s advice on that is timely. Laura has outlined what to do to avoid having your land inadvertently become subject to public rights and Chris has detailed some surprising news from the courts regarding what constitutes reasonable grounds for laying an employee off. Finally, Penny and Nicola from our Environmental Team give some important Flood law updates.

As always, I hope that you find the newsletter helpful and informative and do contact me or any of the team if you have any queries or comment.

The content of this page is a summary of the law in force at the date of publication and is not exhaustive, nor does it contain definitive advice. Specialist legal advice should be sought in relation to any queries that may arise.
