Freeths raise record amount for charity
Freeths have recently presented a cheque to Alzheimer’s Society for £50,000 after carrying out fundraising events over the past 18 months.
Staff have been involved in various activities both in and out of the office, with the landmark event being a skydive last May. Over forty members of staff from across the country jumped from heights of 10,000ft at speeds of up to 120mph. Their bravery resulted in £22,000 being raised by family, friends, colleagues and business contacts.
In summer 2016 a large number of staff took part in the Yorkshire three peaks challenge for the charity too, climbing three gruelling hills in under 12 hours and raising over £11,000.
With several dress down days and cake sales taking place across all office locations too, all members of staff had the opportunity to get involved in fundraising.
Chris Freeston, Managing Partner of the Nottingham office of Freeths, commented:
“It has been a really enjoyable time supporting Alzheimer’s Society and I am proud of all our staff for the effort that has gone into raising this impressive amount of money. A number of employees also became ‘dementia friends’ and undertook training from the charity which just adds to the experience. The whole firm united to raise money for a vitally important cause and I hope it helps many families going forward.”
Alzheimer’s Society are the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, there for anyone affected by any form of dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
