Freeths retains ranking in Sunday Times top 100 Best Companies to Work For

For the second time running national law firm Freeths have been placed in the Sunday Times UK Top 100 Companies to Work, in the mid-sized companies category. The results, compiled from surveys of staff satisfaction, rank Freeths at number 57 the list. Freeths has also retained its two star accreditation from Best Companies, representing an outstanding level of employee engagement.

Founder and CEO, Jonathan Austin said: “I would like to congratulate Freeths LLP on being named as one of the UK's Best Companies to Work for. Best Companies have been producing the Accreditation standard since 2006 to acknowledge excellence in the workplace. We are proud that organisations like Freeths focus on their employees and have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that they're a best company to work for.”

The rankings cover categories such as 'Wellbeing' and the firm's many offerings to staff include lunchtime mindfulness sessions, participation in the Cycle to Work Scheme, regular fruit deliveries and discounted massages. Regular staff communications focus on mental and physical health issues in the work place.

Of the 8 factors highlighted by the survey, the firm excelled in 'Giving Something Back' - Freeths places great importance on CSR initiatives, including significant support for local charities and community organisations, with additional fundraising for its national charity (money raised for The Alzheimer's Society in 2018 exceeded £50k). A 'green group' also involves high levels of staff engagement in various initiatives to reduce the impact of the business on the environment.

Freeths commented: “This is a great accolade for us to receive. We work hard to ensure all employees are treated fairly and this reflects our core values, summarised by 'doing the right thing,' in relation to our staff. We have a great team ethos at Freeths with each individual contributing to the overall success of the firm.

These results follow the firm's most successful financial year to date in 2017/18, with turnover reaching almost £80m, and the office opening in Liverpool taking UK coverage to 12 offices.
