Freeths expands Construction and Energy teams with pivotal senior hire

Leading law firm Freeths has strengthened its Construction & Engineering practice with the appointment of Director Jon Baker, further enhancing the firm’s capabilities across clean energy, major infrastructure and complex construction procurement. Jon joins from BELECTRIC UK.

Jon is a specialist in drafting and negotiating contracts for the construction and operation of infrastructure assets, with extensive experience advising on solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), onshore and offshore wind, biogas, and a broad range of major schemes across roads, rail and airports.

His background includes in-house positions with a solar engineering, procurement and construction contractor, an offshore wind developer, a BESS developer and Transport for London, giving him valuable insight into procurement and project delivery processes from both private and public sector perspectives.

This combination of technical knowledge and practical project insight adds further depth and capability to Freeths' growing national Construction & Engineering practice and aligns with the firm’s strategic focus on the rapidly expanding clean energy and infrastructure sectors.
