Freeths strengthens its voice in national disputes with ACTAPS committee appointment
Leading law firm Freeths has strengthened its presence in the contentious private client space following the appointment of Director Sally Goodger to the committee of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).
ACTAPS is the leading UK body representing lawyers, barristers and legal executives specialising in disputes involving wills, estates and trusts. Its committee plays a central role in shaping best practice, promoting collaboration and supporting the development of the profession.
Sally has more than 15 years’ experience advising on complex and high-value contentious trust and probate matters. Her expertise spans inheritance disputes, challenges to the validity of wills, trust disputes, 1975 Act claims and executor removal applications, and she works closely with the firm’s wider private client team to resolve particularly sensitive and complex family and estate issues.
An ADR accredited mediator, Sally is known for her measured and empathetic approach, and is ranked Band 1 in the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and recognised as a Leading Partner in The Legal 500.
Commenting on Sally’s appointment, Freeths’ Divisional Head of Private Client Services Sarah Foster said: “Sally’s appointment to the ACTAPS committee is a well-deserved recognition of her expertise and standing in the contentious private client market. Her involvement further strengthens Freeths’ voice within key industry bodies and reflects the depth and quality of our private client dispute resolution offering. We are proud to support her in this role and the contribution she will make to the wider profession.”
Sally Goodger added: “I’m pleased to join the ACTAPS committee and contribute to the work the organisation does to support practitioners in this specialist area. Contentious trust and probate matters are often highly sensitive and complex, so it is important that we continue to share knowledge and uphold high standards across the profession. I look forward to working with fellow committee members to help shape best practice and support the continued development of this area of law.”
