Personal Immigration: Application Management Service
Freeths can complete any immigration application for you or your family members, including visas for work, business or study, visitor visas, entry clearance or leave to remain to join or to stay with family members in the UK, applications to settle permanently in the UK, and applications for British citizenship. We also deal with applications not covered by the Immigration Rules, such as human rights applications.
We provide advice and representation in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First and Upper Tier Tribunals on appeals against Home Office visa or immigration decisions.
Our charges are based on an hourly rate depending on the level of individual helping you. Our standard hourly rates are as follows:
Partner | £325 – £410 per hour plus VAT |
Associate Solicitor | £281 – £360 per hour plus VAT |
Solicitor | £194 – £226 per hour plus VAT |
Immigration Executive | £162 – £220 per hour plus VAT |
Legal Assistant | £97 – £140 per hour plus VAT |
Our visa application service includes:
- An appointment with a lawyer to discuss your circumstances in detail and take your instructions
- Full advice on the most appropriate application for you, the requirements of the application and confirmation of the supporting documents required
- Checking your supporting documents and advising on their adequacy
- Preparing your application
- Drafting representations in support of your application
- Submitting your application, supporting documents and representations to the Home Office
- Liaising with the Home Office as and when necessary
- Advising on the outcome of your application and any further steps you may need to take
As we have extensive experience in preparing these applications and in running immigration appeals, we will be able to give you a good estimate of the time and cost of completing this work for you. Examples of the typical amount of work involved in a matter are provided below for reference.

Additional items
There may be additional items of expense not included above such as:
- Interpreters/translation fees
- Home Office and associated application fees, such as the immigration health surcharge
- Biometric enrolment fees and appointment fees
- Priority services fees
- English language exam fees
We will always discuss any additional costs with you and will agree these with you before we incur them.
Timescales
We will normally be able to prepare your application and draft representations in readiness for submission of your application within 2 working days of receiving your full supporting documents and all the information we need from you. We will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this. There are situations when we need to make urgent applications, in which case your work will be expedited to meet the critical deadline.
We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application, but we can provide you with up-to-date information on current processing times when this is available. We can access priority services for you as required and if these are available.
