Charlotte is an Associate based in our Leeds office, specialising in construction and engineering disputes. She has experience acting for a wide range of clients, including domestic and international contractors, specialist sub-contractors, employers, local authorities, law firms and schools.
Charlotte has worked on several adjudication, litigation, and mediation matters, advising clients on construction disputes involving breach of contract, repudiation, defective workmanship, variations compensation events, termination and suspension. She has experience working with the JCT, NEC and PFI forms of contract and bespoke forms of agreement.

- Advised a specialist electrical sub-contractor on disputes across two projects, both involving amended forms of the NEC3 ECC contract. The matter related to issues of non-approval of the contract programme and rejection of compensation events. An amicable settlement was reached between the parties
- Led contract negotiations on behalf of a water drainage company, using the same NEC3 standard-form of contract, successfully negotiating amendments to protect the client against key areas of risk
- Led a successful adjudication on behalf of a contractor against a subcontractor, under the JCT Design and Build Contract 2016, relating to a payment dispute and service of contractual notices
- Acted on behalf of a supplier at a mediation relating to a claim for defective materials, resulting in the parties entering into a settlement agreement
- Assisted in providing contractual advice to a Borough Council on an ongoing PFI contract under a BSF scheme
