Ed joined Freeths as a Managing Associate in the Corporate team in January 2023.
Ed is an experienced transactional lawyer, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring along with day to day business affairs and corporate governance. He has particular expertise advising SMEs and OMBs, including family businesses.
Ed has also been previously seconded to a multinational company offering advertising and business process outsourcing services. He acted as the legal ‘point person’ for a complex global restructure, working directly with the General Counsel.
Ed has a focus on technology related businesses, and is a published thought leader on blockchain / DLT, and has spoken on the topic at conferences across the UK, Europe and the USA following a secondment working with emerging technology experts in New York.

- Advising the shareholders of a community healthcare specialist provider on their SME sale to private equity fund Tristone Capital.
- Advising the Dubai based buyer of a global builder of custom and production rigid inflatable boats with clients including police forces and defence contractors.
- Advising the management team on the buyout of an architectural firm that has worked on numerous high profile schemes in Bristol and the South West region.
- Advising the shareholders of a leading regional sports business on their exit.
- Advising the buyer of a nationwide recruitment group.
