About Francis

Francis is a partner in the Freeths London Corporate team. He trained at Herbert Smith Freehills and spent seven years there before joining Freeths in 2017.

A highly experienced M&A lawyer, Francis has a proven track record advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. He frequently leads large, multi-jurisdictional teams and is recognised for his strategic, pragmatic approach to deal execution.

His practice covers the full spectrum of corporate transactional work, with a particular expertise in private equity both at platform and portfolio levels. Francis has advised numerous PE houses on roll-up strategies, bolt-on acquisitions and exits. He also has deep experience in joint ventures, carve-out transactions, distressed and accelerated M&A and general corporate advisory matters.

Francis is ranked as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (2026 edition) and is listed as a Recommended Lawyer and Next Generation Partner in The Legal 500 (2026 edition) for mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
