Isobel specialises in all aspects of insolvency, restructuring and corporate recovery work. She has over 11 years’ experience dealing with both contentious and non-contentious matters. Isobel regularly advises all stakeholders involved in insolvency and restructuring matters, including insolvency practitioners, debtors, creditors, corporate clients, directors, individuals and investment funds as well as major high street banks and other lenders.
Isobel also advises on restructurings and business reorganisations, pre-pack administrations and complex liquidations and bankruptcies.
Isobel is listed as a Recommended Lawyer and recognised as a Rising Star in The Legal 500 (2024 edition).

Restructuring & Insolvency
Isobel is experienced in corporate insolvency matters, undertaking contentious and non-contentious work.
Isobel advises insolvency practitioners acting as administrators in relation to the pre-appointment stage of an administration process, and the post-appointment sale of company assets and businesses, administration trading issues, antecedent transaction claims and various other matters during the administration process. Isobel is also experienced in advising companies purchasing the business and assets of a company in administration from insolvency practitioners.
Isobel advises liquidators in relation to creditors’ claims, ROT issues, dealing with winding up petitions and CVL’s, the recovery of assets from debtors and issuing claims against directors including misfeasance, transaction at undervalue, preference and wrongful trading claims.
Isobel advises trustees in bankruptcy in pursuing assets, issuing possession and sale proceedings and issuing claims pursuant to the Insolvency Act 1986 including preference, transaction at undervalue, void dispositions claims and applying for income payment orders.
Isobel also advises in relation to:
- Insolvency related property matters.
- Directors’ duties and obligations in scenarios where a company is in financial difficulty.
- Advising directors in defending director disqualification proceedings.
- CVAs and IVAs, including inter-locking IVAs.
- Bankruptcy annulment applications.
- Statutory demands, winding-up petitions and bankruptcy petitions.
- Debt recovery matters including attending creditors’ meetings on behalf of creditors.
Recent Work
- Advising a creditor respect of their multi-million pound claim in the administration of a company that operated in the energy and renewables sector.
- Advising the administrators of The Holiday Place Plc – a large holiday tour operator company, which had been trading for nearly 30 years. This involved advising the administrators on the repatriation process, the sale of certain assets and other administration insolvency matters.
- Advising the directors of a failing manufacturing business in relation to their duties, the restructuring options available to the company and overseeing the orderly wind down of operations.
- Acting for the liquidators of a marketing company in liquidation, in relation to certain claims including preparing and issuing proceedings.
