Jake Mitchell

Jake is a qualified solicitor specialising in family law throughout his career. Jake’s particular expertise comes in complex Children Act proceedings, often representing parents looking to reunite with their estranged loved ones. These cases are often intertwined with domestic abuse protection cases and complicated financial remedy proceedings. Jake often represents spouses and parents in court proceedings across the country and is as comfortable on his feet before a circuit court judge as at his desk preparing case papers for his clients.

Jake has helped spouses and parents across the UK and abroad including business owners, judges, young professionals and students, other solicitors, stay-at-home parents and spouses and retired people – helping each person with the nuance required given the circumstances of their lives.

Jake also helps clients in the planning of their family life – working on nuptial agreements (Pre-Nups) and representing clients looking to adopt their partner’s children.

Jake is a member of Resolution, the community of family lawyers focussing on resolving issues in a constructive and family-focussed way and takes an active role in running training for other lawyers across Yorkshire in the family law community.
