About James
James is a Senior Associate in the Private Client Dispute Resolution team based in the Sheffield office. He joined the firm in March 2024 after training and qualifying at his previous firm.
James has over 6 years of experience in dealing with both claimant and defendant litigation in relation to disputes involving wills, trusts and estates. In particular, he can advise on:
• Will validity claims (formalities, lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, lack of knowledge and approval)
• Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
• Executor disputes
• Burial disputes
• Claims relating to the Rules of Intestacy
• Trustee disputes
• TOLATA/Constructive trust disputes
• Proprietary estoppel disputes
• Professional negligence disputes
James is a student member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS) and will complete the course and obtain Associate membership in July 2024.
