About Kelly

Kelly Whittaker is a Director in the firm’s Dispute Resolution team and Head of the firm’s Legal Data Analytics department.

Kelly is an experienced commercial litigator noted for her experience on complex high-value commercial and financial disputes ranging from general contract and tort claims to more specialist issues. She has been praised for her ability to “get to the heart of the issue in a matter of minutes not months”.

Having worked in industry before embarking on a legal career, Kelly has firsthand experience of the commercial realities clients face and is adapt at helping clients navigate these issues behind the scenes. This sees many of her disputes resolved at an early juncture using alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation.

Kelly is recognised for her extensive experience of advising on professional negligence actions having acted on some of the largest negligence claims in the High Court within the last 10 years. Her experience in this area is broad and includes claims against solicitors, surveyors/valuers, financial advisors and brokers, actuaries, auditors, accountants and engineers.

Alongside her professional negligence expertise, Kelly has advised extensively on:

  • contract and supply chain disputes across a wide range of sectors (including retail, food and technology)

  • issues relating to the Grocery Supply Code of Practice (GSCOP)

  • director, shareholder and partnership disputes

  • warranty claims and other issues arising from corporate transactions

  • pensions disputes (acting for employers, trustees and representative members of occupational pension schemes)
