Luke is an experienced data protection, e-Privacy and cyber lawyer. He advises businesses from start-ups to blue chips on the privacy aspects of a wide range of matters including commercial and IT agreements, projects and transactions. He regularly advises clients on how to respond to data breaches and to data subject rights requests, as well as digital marketing compliance. He has considerable experience of working with clients on cross-border matters, having worked at two leading US law firms.
Luke has previously worked on secondment as part of the data protection team of a well-known High Street retailer. He understands that clients want data advice which is clear, commercial and practical.
Luke sits on the City of London Law Society’s specialist Data Protection Committee. He is frequently asked to deliver training and seminars on data issues. He is a qualified data protection practitioner (CIPP/E) and holds a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.
He heads up Freeths’ Data & Information Team, which has been named as a “Firm to Watch” for Data Protection in the Legal 500 UK (2022 edition) and is recognised as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (2024 edition).
