Sarah Scullion

Sarah specialises in Family Law and represents clients across a wide range of matters including private children disputes, divorce and the dissolution of civil partnerships, financial settlements, nuptial agreements, and issues relating to cohabiting couples. Sarah joined Freeths in February 2021, and after a successful running in period, was promoted to Senior Associate to reflect the strength of her capabilities and client offering. Clients value Sarah’s pragmatic yet compassionate approach. She takes care to understand her client’s objectives and is skilled in adapting her advice to focus on the key needs of her clients, cutting through the issues and ensuring the most appropriate approach is taken.

Sarah has an established practice of representing clients across a wide range of financial claims on divorce, including those involving high net worth individuals and complicated asset structures. Sarah also represents clients in complex children disputes, predominantly representing clients engaged in court proceedings, including where serious accusations have been made against a parent.

Sarah is proud to be a qualified Collaborative Practitioner, reflecting her dedication to resolving issues outside of court in a forward thinking and family focussed way. She is an active member of Resolution and is co-chair of North and West Yorkshire’s Young Resolution committee.

Sarah represents clients primarily in the North of England, although her client base stretches across the country including the Midlands/South. Sarah also represents clients in cases with international features, due either to the location of parties or the assets.
