Freeths advise on acquisition by Travis Perkins of air conditioning distributor

Karl Jansen and Victoria Rooksby acted for Travis Perkins plc in relation to its recent acquisition of air conditioning distributor, TF Solutions.

The company, which operates from sites in Stockport, Burton-upon-Trent and Dunstable, is becoming part of the Contracts division of the Northampton-headquartered Travis Perkins Group. The deal adds TF Solutions’ air conditioning and refrigeration business to the expanding portfolio of BSS, which already covers a range of sectors supporting contractors with specialist pipeline, heating and mechanical services equipment.

Andrew Cherrill has been confirmed as the new managing director at TF Solutions. He said:

“We fully intend to continue operating as we have always done giving our customers a service level which is second to none in the industry. The acquisition deal will allow us to grow as a company and expand that service, and we very much look forward to working with BSS to achieve this.”

Frank Elkins, CEO of Travis Perkins’ Contracts division, added:

“TF Solutions have an extremely strong identity within the air conditioning and refrigeration market which perfecty complements those in which BSS already operates. In terms of product, the TF Solutions range will enhance BSS’ product offering and support us to offer a one stop shop for our HVAC customers.”

TF Solutions, which was established in 2001, currently employs 48 people at its three branches trading across the whole of the UK.

Meanwhile, BSS was established more than 100 years ago and became part of the Travis Perkins Group in 2010. It has 58 branches and employs approximately 1,200 staff.
