Oxford Employment and HR Forum: How to conduct a flawless redundancy consultation process

The Oxford employment team are delighted to invite you to their next HR workshop, taking place on Wednesday, 9 July 2025.

During this workshop, Nicola Wallbank will be discussing how to conduct a flawless redundancy consultation process. With pressure on employers increasing, the prospect of making redundancies has become an unfortunate reality for numerous businesses and organisations. The objective of this workshop is to give attendees the tools necessary to conduct redundancy consultation processes with skill and confidence.

Topics that will be up for discussion include:

• Is a situation a redundancy or not?
• Terminating employment fairly and avoiding claims
• Engaging in individual consultation and exploring alternatives to redundancy
• Devising pools for selection and appropriate selection criteria
• Considering suitable alternatives
• Fulfilling collective consultation obligations

The workshop is intended to be informal and interactive, with attendees able to learn from each other as well as ask questions of our legal experts. 

As usual, the workshop is free to attend and breakfast will be served from 8:30, ready for a prompt 9:00 start. The workshop will finish around 11am.
