A new garden village for Nottinghamshire

National law firm, Freeths LLP, and Innes England, have completed a major deal to sell a 58 acres of brownfield development land at the historic former RAF Newton airbase, Nottinghamshire to national house builder Redrow to create the first garden village in Nottinghamshire.

Newton Garden Village will comprise a new community of 528 homes, village centre shops, school and community facilities including allotments and sports facilities and landscaped open space on 180 acres of the estate. This has been a long awaited development to create a new village and much needed housing and facilities for Rushcliffe Borough. The deal involved complex land, planning and infrastructure obligations and needed top class legal and commercial support. Commenting on the deal Jon Smart, Real Estate Partner at Freeths, Nottingham said, “It is great to have got this major deal completed, the culmination of years of hard work. It's been a pleasure working with our client Simon Waterfield, Innes England and the team at Redrow who have all remained focused and positive even through tough times this year.” It is anticipated new residents will be able to move into Newton Garden Village from July 2021.
