Freeths supercharges its housebuilding team with a senior strategic partner hire
Leading law firm Freeths has continued to expand its well-established Housebuilding & Strategic Land team with the appointment of Partner Ben Pariser to its Bristol office. Ben has previously held partnership roles with DAC Beachcroft and more recently was National Head of Residential Development at Shoosmiths.
Bringing with him more than 20 years’ experience, Ben regularly advises FTSE listed national housebuilders, as well as regionally focused developers and public-private partnerships. His experience ranges from single outlet developments to urban extensions of several thousand units. He regularly provides advice in respect of unconditional and conditional acquisitions, joint ventures, partnership working, land swaps, equity and debt funded acquisitions, forward funded projects, options, promotions and hybrids, serviced parcel acquisitions and disposals, brownfield regeneration and projects involving Homes England, local authorities and other public sector partners.
Highly respected in his field, Ben specialises in both immediate and strategic land. His client base aligns very closely with Freeths’ established clients and legal panel wins, after the firm celebrated a flurry of recent panel appointment successes. These include appointments with Barratt Redrow, Vistry, Taylor Wimpey, Bellway, Tilia, Keepmoat, Hill Group and Berkeley Group.
Commenting on Ben’s appointment, Partner and National Head of Housebuilding & Strategic Land Patrick Adie said: “We are thrilled to welcome Ben to the firm. We continue to go from strength to strength, including dealing with some of the most complex and interesting residential development transactions across the country, for the top housebuilders. Attracting such a high-calibre lawyer as Ben really demonstrates how we have established ourselves as a destination firm for top talent. We look forward to growing our presence in the South West and nationally, with Ben being a key part of our future.”
Ben added: “I’m delighted to be joining Freeths at such an exciting time, as the team demonstrates its leading role across the sector. Their client roster, 100% reappointment rate and multiple major award wins is impressive, and testament to the quality of its people. The firm has an unwavering dedication to the housebuilding industry. This resolute focus on the clients I have enjoyed working with throughout my career was key to my decision to join Freeths. Of equal importance, the values of the firm have really impressed me, with a very clear, people-focussed strategy and an open, collaborative culture. I’m very excited to help boost the team’s profile in the region and to help bolster the leadership of the team nationally.”
