Freeths supports RedCat Hospitality

Leading law firm Freeths has advised RedCat Hospitality on the sale of eight pubs to Punch Pubs & Co, supporting RedCat Hospitality’s strategic move to fortify its position as the leading hospitality group dedicated to operating the UK’s best collection of premium inns.

Freeths Real Estate Partner and Head of Drinks, Hospitality & Leisure Leo Skinner led the legal team on this disposal which will see eight well established pubs across the UK join the Punch Pubs portfolio: the Broad Leys in Aylesbury; the Bull in Barming; the Cross Keys in Nottingham; the Crown Inn in Old Dalby; the Hare in Roxwell; the Nags Head in Little Kingshill; the Prince Rupert in Newark; and the Wig & Mitre in Lincoln.

The transaction follows RedCat Hospitality’s sale of its leased and tenanted pubs division to Admiral Taverns at the end of 2025, as the business continues to expand The Coaching Inn Group, its 43 strong collection of premium inns.

Leo Skinner said that deal was a clear reflection of RedCat Hospitality’s vision and the strength of its leadership team.

He continued: “We’re proud to have supported RedCat Hospitality on this key stage of its strategic evolution. It’s been a genuinely collaborative process, and we’re pleased to have played a part in enabling the business to push forward with its focus on premium pubs with rooms.”

Mike Rothwell, RedCat Hospitality’s CFO, added: “We’re grateful to the Freeths team for its clear guidance and collaborative approach throughout. Leo’s support has been invaluable in helping us progress this next phase. We would also like to thank the teams across each of the sites for their ongoing hard work, and we’re confident the pubs will continue to thrive under Punch’s ownership.”
