Freeths transfers Clinical Negligence and Court of Protection to Fletchers Group
Freeths agrees to transfer its Clinical Negligence and Court of Protection teams to Fletchers Group, a well-established UK specialist in serious injury and clinical negligence.
Freeths launched its ambitious 2030 strategy last year, having won Legal Business and City AM Law Firm of the Year. Our strategy focuses on what is best for our clients and our people, and our stated aim is to be Leaders in Law with People at Heart.
Following an approach by specialist serious injury and medical negligence firm, Fletchers Solicitors, we have agreed to transfer our Clinical Negligence and Court of Protection teams to become part of the Fletchers Group.
These two specialist practice areas comprise 42 colleagues out of Freeths’ 1,300+ people, and Fletchers will provide a better platform to undertake this work for the benefit of both our clients and colleagues.
Freeths will continue to focus on the growth of its strategic divisions, including its highly regarded Private Client business, which remains a core strategic priority.
Karl Jansen, National Managing Partner at Freeths, said: “We are proud of the strength and reputation our Clinical Negligence and Court of Protection teams have built, and the high quality work they deliver for clients, achieving some amazing results.
“However, given the way that the market has evolved, and the fact that long term success in these specialist areas increasingly requires scale, focus and sustained investment, we believe that Fletchers Group offers the right platform for both our clients and our people, with the ambition and capability to support their continued growth.”
Freeths will work closely with colleagues and clients to support a smooth transition over the coming weeks.
Jane Williams, Partner and Head of Medical Negligence, East Midlands at Freeths, said: “I am excited to be joining Fletchers, recognised as one of the UK’s leading clinical negligence practices. There is no doubt in my mind that Fletchers is the perfect home for both our team and our clients. Our shared values and unwavering dedication to doing what is right for those we represent, many of whom have faced the most difficult times in their lives, make this transition a natural and positive step forward for everyone involved.”
Natasha Molloy, Partner and Head of Court of Protection at Freeths, said: “I am pleased and excited to be joining Fletchers Group. I am delighted that we will be working alongside the highly respected and experienced Court of Protection practitioners from EMG Solicitors, JE Bennett Law and Fletchers. This is a fantastic opportunity for our team to be part of a nationwide force in Court of Protection, and we are confident that our values align as we come together to continue delivering exceptional outcomes for vulnerable individuals and their families.”
