Freeths’ Venture team advises Midlands Mindforge on inaugural investment in TextureJet

Leading law firm Freeths’ Venture team has advised Midlands Mindforge, the newly established investment fund backed by the eight Midlands Innovation universities, on its first investment into University of Nottingham spin-out TextureJet.

Established to address historic underinvestment in university spin-outs and help turn world-class regional research into successful, scalable businesses, Midlands Mindforge provides patient capital to high-growth science and technology companies emerging from the Midlands' research and innovation ecosystem.

TextureJet has developed advanced surface processing technology, providing manufacturers with a cleaner and more efficient alternative to traditional machining methods.

The investment will support TextureJet's next phase of growth, including commercial expansion, technology development and international growth. It follows the company's recent move to a larger headquarters and manufacturing facility in Ripley, Derbyshire, providing increased production capacity and space for future recruitment.

The Freeths team was led by Corporate Director Michael McMahon and Corporate Senior Associate Christie Nelson.
