About Melanie

Melanie is an employment team partner where clients value her practical, jargon-free advice and responsiveness and her advanced negotiating skills.

With over 25 years’ City experience, Melanie's role includes advising organisations, businesses, senior executives (bankers, traders, brokers) and professionals on the full range of employment matters. Her work ranges from advising on exits, investigations, non-competition restrictions and shareholder disputes to employment tribunal (e.g. whistleblowing) and court claims. A number of her cases involve sensitive departures and protecting reputations. Melanie has a particular focus on owner-managed and international businesses, is a French speaker and handles Anglo-French and cross border work. She regularly comments on employment matters in the press.

Melanie is recommended in Legal 500 for work for senior executives, having led that service for clients of Cripps and Irwin Mitchell. She has advised very senior individuals and businesses to the highest level and has received the feedback below.

She regularly advises on complex remuneration packages, negotiated Settlement Agreement deals and accompanying individuals under (disciplinary and regulatory) investigation.

She has recently achieved 7-figure payment arrangements and assisted a female senior executive to successfully avoid a back to work mandate. She advised Michael Wardle to the Court of Appeal in his discrimination claim against Calyon (Credit Agricole).
