Mercedes-Benz UK appoints Shoosmiths and Freeths to new legal panel

Law firms Shoosmiths and Freeths have been appointed on the latest Mercedes-Benz UK legal panel for the next three years.

Shoosmiths has been reappointed to the panel, with Freeths joining as a new supplier. The appointment will see the firms support the brand on a full-service basis. This includes commercial contracts, real estate, construction, finance, regulatory and competition matters.

Shoosmiths has been supporting Mercedes-Benz since 2014. During this time, the law firm has established a trainee secondment programme with Mercedes-Benz UK This allows trainee lawyers from both firms to complete a seat with the in-house legal team on a six-month rotation.

Robin Webb, Head of Shoosmiths’ commercial group, is the client partner for Mercedes-Benz. The firm’s panel team also consists of Kirsty Chalkley (real estate), Simon Barnes (competition), Suzanne Taylor (financial services) and Jonathan Smart (litigation).

From Freeths, dispute resolution lawyer Louise Wilson is the client partner. Freeths’ panel team also includes Adam Edwards and Daniel Meyer (financial services), Chris Holwell (construction and engineering), Laura Brown and Philip Gray (commercial property) and Mark Neale (commercial and IT).
