Freeths advises Breal Capital on latest hospitality acquisition

National law firm Freeths has advised Breal Capital on its acquisition of and investment in Purity Brewing Co and Purecraft Bar & Kitchen.

Led by restructuring partner John Jeffreys and banking and finance partner James Dyson, the Freeths team worked with London-based firm Breal on this transaction which saved all 60 hospitality jobs at Purity Brewing Company, the parent company of Purecraft in Birmingham.

Completion of the deal is the latest in a line of iconic hospitality acquisitions which Freeths has advised on in the last year for Breal Capital. These include International Restaurant Group D&D, where Freeths also acted for Calveton, Vinoteca, Black Sheep Brewery, Brick Brewery, Brew By Numbers and a number of City venues from the former We Are Bar Group.

Commenting on the deal, client partner John Jeffreys said: “It was a pleasure to support Breal Capital again on this transaction and its investment which will secure the long-term future of this popular local and national brand.”

“With thanks to Brent Osborne, Mick Welden, Neil Gostelow and all the team at Breal Capital for putting their trust in us to deliver another successful outcome after a year of significant acquisitions and investment into this sector.”
