Sheffield Employment and HR Forum: How to conduct a flawless redundancy consultation process

The Sheffield employment team are delighted to invite you to their next HR workshop, taking place on Thursday, 12th June 2025.

During this workshop, Tom Draper, Lee Williams and Claudia Booth will be advising on how to conduct a flawless redundancy consultation process. With pressure on employers increasing, the prospect of making redundancies has become an unfortunate reality for numerous businesses and organisations. The objective of this workshop is to give attendees the tools necessary to conduct redundancy consultation processes with skill and confidence. Topics that will be up for discussion include:

• The importance of preparation
• Fulfilling collective consultation obligations
• Devising appropriate selection criteria
• Engaging in individual consultation and exploring alternatives to redundancy
• Considering suitable alternative employment and trial periods
• Terminating employment fairly and avoiding claims

The workshop is intended to be informal and interactive, with attendees able to learn from each other as well as ask questions of our legal experts.

As usual, the workshop is free to attend and breakfast will be served from 8:30am, ready for a prompt 9:00am start. The workshop will finish around 10:30am.
