Fake reviews under the DMCCA - what the CMA expects now
Date: Wednesday 14 April 2027
Time: 12:00 - 12:30
Venue: Online via Zoom
If your business collects, publishes or uses customer reviews, the risk is no longer confined to knowingly posting something fake.
The Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 introduced a banned practice covering fake reviews and concealed incentivised reviews, as well as the misleading publication of reviews and review information. Businesses publishing reviews must also take steps to prevent banned reviews from appearing.
For consumer-facing businesses, that raises a practical question: are the processes behind your reviews strong enough?
Join our IP and Media team for a 20-minute webinar examining what the CMA's rules mean in practice and what businesses should be doing now.
