Freeths advises on launch of fairground venue Fayre Play

Leading law firm Freeths has advised on the launch of Fayre Play, the North East’s newest competitive socialising venue.

Opening later this summer at The Gate Newcastle, the immersive fairground-themed experience is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo Craig and Kasia Neilson, following successful openings in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The deal was led by Real Estate Partner Caroline Smith. She worked closely with the client to secure the prime city centre location and navigate the complex legal and commercial aspects of the transaction.

Fayre Play Newcastle will offer a vibrant mix of retro fairground games, cocktails, and street food, transforming from a family-friendly venue by day into an adults-only playground by night. Designed by Gateshead’s Pulp Studios, the venue promises a bold, locally inspired aesthetic and a fresh game lineup tailored to the North East crowd.
