Freeths advises the selling shareholders of Access Building Products Ltd, Jupiter Blue Ltd, House of Canopies Ltd and GRP Products Ltd

Leading law firm Freeths has advised the sellers in a transaction which saw a majority stake in a 88-strong group of building products businesses being acquired by a Swedish investor.

Röko AB has acquired 85 per cent of the shares of Access Building Products Group Ltd (which now owns the ABP Group) with the remaining 15 per cent being owned by ABP Group’s managing director Bob Elderton.

ABP Group is headquartered in Tockwith near York. The group is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of specialist products for commercial and residential buildings, particularly in access panels and door canopies. It employs 88 people, operates from two UK manufacturing sites, and has consolidated annual sales of approximately £15m.

Röko, headquartered in Sweden and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, owns 32 companies across Europe and has a strong track record of acquiring and growing specialist businesses.

The Freeths team was led by Corporate Partner Andy Francey and Corporate Managing Associate Megan Atack. Freeths worked closely alongside Roger Esler and Mike Barker of Dow Scofield Watts (Corporate Finance) in delivering the transaction.
