Recent Work
- Sale of portfolio of over 50 let commercial properties for circa £60 million, including advice on key VAT and capital allowance issues.
- Demerger of major student accommodation provider, including transfer of properties valued at £12.4 million to new company and onward transfer of that company. Bob gave comprehensive tax advice on structuring given to ensure complete tax neutrality.
- Joint venture between private investors and care home provider. As funding for the private investors’ shares was provided by their employer, detailed advice on complex taxable benefit rules and the availability of a relief was covered. Bob’s advice also covered qualification for ‘investors relief’ 10% CGT rate.
- Advised private investor on circa £3 million conversion of office building into luxury apartments. Advice given, structuring the development to mitigate VAT, SDLT and the investor’s overall tax position.
