Personal Immigration: Application Management Service

Freeths can complete any immigration application for you or your family members, including applications for British citizenship, status for European nationals, visitor visas, entry clearance or leave to remain, to join or to stay with family members in the UK, visas for work, business or study and applications to settle permanently in the UK. We also deal with applications that are not covered by the Immigration Rules such as human rights applications.

We provide advice and representation in the Immigration and Asylum Chamber of the First and Upper Tier Tribunals in relation to appeals against Home Office visa or immigration decisions.

Our charges are based on an hourly rate depending on the level of individual helping you. Our standard hourly rates are as follows:

Partner £281 – £328 per hour plus VAT
Associate Solicitor £220 – £281 per hour plus VAT
Solicitor £194 – £220 per hour plus VAT
Immigration Executive £140 – £166 per hour plus VAT
Legal Assistant £108 – £140 per hour plus VAT

As we have extensive experience in preparing these applications and in running immigration appeals, we will be able to give you a good estimate of the time and cost of completing this work for you. Examples of the typical amount of work involved in a matter are provided below for reference.

EEA (European Economic Area) applications 7 – 10 hours
Applications for British citizenship 7 – 10 hours
Travel documents and passport applications 3 – 7 hours

Our service includes

  • An appointment with a lawyer to discuss your circumstances in detail and take your instructions
  • Full advice on the most appropriate application for you, the requirements of the application and confirmation of the supporting documents required
  • Checking your supporting documents
  • Preparing your application
  • Drafting representations in support of the application
  • Submitting your application, supporting documents and representations
  • Liaising with the Home Office as and when necessary
  • Advising on the outcome of your application and any further steps you may need to take

Additional items

There may be additional items of expense not included above such as:

  • Interpreters/translation fees
  • Home Office and associated application fees
  • Work after a decision has been made in pursing any appeal work


We will normally be able to prepare your application and draft representations in readiness for submission of your application within 10 working days of receiving your full supporting documents. We will let you know at the earliest opportunity if it is likely to take longer than this. There are situations when we need to make urgent applications, in which case your work will be expedited to meet the critical deadline.

We cannot guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application but we can provide you with up to date information on current processing times when this is available.

However, what we can guarantee is that we will do our utmost to ensure your application is submitted and determined as quickly and efficiently as possible.
