Freeths corporate insurance team advises on the sale of the trade and assets of Rural Insurance Group Limited to the Ardonagh Group

Freeths has advised Rural Insurance Group Limited on the sale of its trade and assets to Geo Underwriting Services Limited, part of the Ardonagh Group.

Harrogate based Rural Insurance is a specialist insurance provider dedicated to rural and agricultural communities. Working with over 600 UK intermediaries, it offers brokers access to a range of products including Farm Combined, Farm Motor, Rural Business Motor, Hailstorm and Livestock insurance. The Freeths team was led by London corporate partner Peter Hill, assisted by corporate associates Naomi Spring and Matthew Cooper, with additional input from corporate partner Francis Dalton. Commercial advice by Jessica Matthews and employment advice by employment partner Kevin Poulter. The acquisition was the latest in a long line of insurance-related deals led by Peter Hill with the involvement of the financial services team at Freeths. The team has worked on a continuous string of insurance and financial services deals, acting for both buyers and sellers, throughout the last few years. Peter commented:
