Freeths advises We Are TALA on seed funding to expand sustainable activewear brand TALA
The Consumer Team at leading national law firm Freeths has advised We Are TALA (Holdings) Limited on its seed investment round of £4.2m to expand the fast growing sustainable activewear label, TALA.
TALA is founded by British influencer and leading entrepreneur, Grace Beverley, who launched the brand in 2019.
This was TALA’s first fundraise, which was co-led by private equity firm Active Partners and venture capital firm Venrex. The other investors included venture capital trust Pembroke, Nicola Kilner (CEO and founder of beauty company, Deciem), Michelle Kennedy (CEO and founder of fertility, pregnancy and motherhood social networking app Peanut) and Simon Mottram (founder of sportswear and lifestyle brand Rapha) among several others.
The Freeths team led all aspects of the asset and capital structing and funding rounds for TALA.
The Freeths team was led by Corporate Partner Emily Settle working alongside Jessica Matthews (Commercial), Charlotte Hartwright, Fatima Hammad and Ben Treasure (Corporate), Alex Angelides (Tax), Iona Silverman and Kevin Poulter (Employment).
Emily Settle commented “I have been delighted to work with the dynamic TALA team on this exciting next stage of TALA’s growth. Please check out our all-inclusive deal team – powered by their ability and client-service, not by gender, background or anything else.”
Morgan Fowles, Managing Director at TALA commented, “The Freeths team commit real energy to getting a deal over the line – they are pragmatic, quick-thinking and highly responsive.”
