Leading law firm Freeths has advised long-standing client International Public Partnerships Limited (INPP), the FTSE 250-listed infrastructure investment company, on the disposal of its interests in nine UK PPP projects to an SMA managed by InfraRed Capital Partners.
The transaction involved nine UK public-private partnership projects comprising 15 schools across four London boroughs delivered under the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme. INPP announced that proceeds are expected to exceed £58 million and represent a premium to the assets’ last published valuation.
Freeths acted as lead legal adviser to INPP on the transaction, providing strategic advice throughout the disposal process and supporting the client in delivering another successful outcome as part of its disciplined capital recycling programme.
The transaction further reinforces Freeths’ position as one of the UK’s leading legal advisers in the PFI and PPP sector, drawing on decades of experience advising investors, funds, contractors and public sector bodies across the full lifecycle of infrastructure assets, from procurement and financing through to operational asset management, refinancings, secondary market transactions and expiry.
Leading the Freeths team on this transaction was Partner and Head of Projects James Larmour. He was supported by Partners Sarah Moore, Richard Lockhart, Claire Boyce and Alex Johnson, Directors Rachel Crosier and Emily Leonard, Managing Associate Nur Alzubeydi, Senior Associate Rebecca Hughes and Associates Celia Raven and Emily Webb.
Commenting on the deal, James Larmour said: “We are delighted to have advised INPP on this important transaction. The disposal demonstrates the continued strength and liquidity of the UK PPP secondary market and highlights the enduring value that can be created through active asset management of mature infrastructure investments. Our team was pleased to help INPP achieve a positive outcome and support its wider investment strategy.”
